World Shakuhachi Day 2022 Online Shakuhachi Gathering

October 8th is World Shakuhachi Day

This annual event has been created to connect the world-wide shakuhachi community.Shakuhachi enthusiasts across the world commemorate the day individually or in groups under a unified theme, transcending schools, nationalities, ages, experience, professionals and amateurs, and advocating the practice of 108 ROBUKI. Last year, more than 200 supporters from 41 countries around the world played for a complete end to the Covid-19 crisis.

The theme for this year is ‘Tranquility and World Peace’ in an unsettled world.

This year, we have organised a 12-hour Online Shakuhachi Gathering (see next page for details).   We will begin and finish with 108 ROBUKI together at 10:08 AM and PM (Japan Standard Time).
